Project challenge
The reinforcement drawings required engineering review and revisions before the final installation package could be established. Closeout then required several distinct forms of information: confirmation of installation to the approved drawings, fireproofing information, and the results of field testing. Equipment calibration alone did not replace the need for a project-specific test record.
Project approach
Delta coordinated the engineer’s comments with the composite supplier during the revise-and-resubmit process. The field team subsequently carried out pull testing and supplied photo and video documentation through the project manager. Delta also provided a letter stating that installation followed the drawings and forwarded the pull-test equipment calibration information. The testing and documentation therefore formed a separate, traceable part of the project work.
Delivery and coordination
Closeout correspondence distinguished the installation statement from the formal presentation of test results and the fireproofing requirements. That distinction helped clarify the different information needed by the contractor and engineer.
