Huntsman T-G1-101 repairs paired high-strength mortar restoration with CFRP at overhead concrete locations and a column.
Delta Structural Technology completed repairs associated with Huntsman’s T-G1-101 area at Port Neches. The scope addressed loose concrete beneath a deck at three locations and a column repair. Delta proposed restoration with high-strength repair mortar followed by CFRP, connecting removal of unstable material with a reinforcing treatment after the repaired concrete had cured.

Project challenge
The overhead locations required the repair team to address loose concrete before applying the composite system. The column also required additional detail to define its extent accurately. Access depended on scaffolding supplied by Huntsman. The work therefore required coordination of the observed defect, the repair substrate and the equipment needed to reach each treatment area.
Project approach
Delta’s recommended sequence began with removal of loose concrete at the identified locations. High-strength repair mortar was then proposed to restore the affected areas. After curing, CFRP was to be applied, with the same general sequence contemplated for the column. The proposal tied composite application to the completion and curing of the concrete restoration rather than treating the fiber as a substitute for removing unstable material.
Delivery and coordination
Delta developed the scope following site contact with Huntsman’s maintenance team. The written proposal identified the overhead locations separately from the column, for which additional information was still needed. Huntsman’s provision of scaffolding was an explicit project interface. That definition helped distinguish the repair work from the access support and kept further field clarification connected to the final scope.
Project significance
T-G1-101 illustrates a concise industrial repair package built around substrate restoration and subsequent composite reinforcement. Its technical emphasis is the order of operations: remove loose material, restore the section, allow curing and apply FRP.
