L93 Gallo
FRP and fireproofing work at Gallo Line 93 was planned around limited access and a partial production shutdown.
Delta Structural Technology completed FRP work for Gallo’s Line 93 in Modesto, California. The scope combined engineered composite strengthening with fireproofing and was planned around a partial shutdown of an active facility. Limited access made logistics and the preparation of the receiving concrete important parts of the proposed installation sequence.

Project challenge
The work had to fit a period when only part of the facility would be shut down. Access was limited, and the team needed to organize personnel, equipment, and staging around that constraint. The composite installation also required a defined surface profile, including correction of surface deviations before reinforcement placement. Fireproofing formed a subsequent system layer in the proposed scope.

Project approach
Delta’s proposal included calculations and working drawings defining material type, location, dimensions, layer count, and orientation. The planned field sequence combined scaffolding or boom-lift access, concrete preparation, substrate priming, and thickened epoxy filler where needed to meet surface tolerances. FRP application was followed by the proposed fireproofing system. This connected engineering, substrate preparation, and protection in one installation package.
Delivery and coordination
The mobilization plan tied crew and equipment arrival to the partial-shutdown window. The proposal also identified field pull tests and sample testing as separate coordination requirements. Utilities, parking, and disposal provisions needed to be arranged with the contractor. Together, these items framed the practical conditions under which the strengthening and fireproofing work could proceed.
Project significance
Line 93 illustrates how manufacturing-facility strengthening is shaped by access and operating schedules. Its technical emphasis is the full system sequence, from substrate correction through reinforcement and fireproofing. Planning those steps alongside the available shutdown period creates a clearer basis for executing the work.
