Delta Structural Technology completed repair work at the Wells Fargo parking garage in El Paso, Texas. The project required concrete repair materials and ramp treatments suited to work in a garage that continued to serve its users.

Project challenge
HKN Engineers developed a repair package covering several types of garage deterioration, with the owner considering phased implementation. Delta’s construction planning recognized that access and repair timing would need to respond to ongoing parking use. Concrete placement, local patching and ramp finishes were therefore coordinated as distinct activities within the work program.
Project approach
The material submittal covered a pourable concrete mix for formed repairs, a polymer-modified mortar for hand patching and a rapid-hardening repair mortar. It also specified a skid-resistant ramp treatment using Sikadur 22 Lo-Mod with broadcast aggregate. The range of materials reflected the different geometries and exposure conditions encountered in concrete members and vehicle surfaces.
Delivery and coordination
Delta coordinated the scope with HKN Engineers and reviewed how the garage’s operating needs would affect mobilization and scheduling. The broader repair documents separated concrete repairs, ramp rehabilitation and other structural work into defined packages. July 2015 coordination addressed the upcoming pours and coating work and the materials needed to support that sequence.
Project significance
The Wells Fargo garage project illustrates why repair methods should be matched to both the damaged element and its use. Formed concrete restoration, hand-applied patching and aggregate-bearing ramp treatment serve different purposes within the same facility. Delta’s work brought those methods into a coordinated repair program for an existing urban parking structure.
