Quincy Dog Park Structural Reinforcement
Beam and joist strengthening for the Quincy Dog Park project using coordinated underside and side-face carbon fiber treatment.
Delta Structural Technology completed carbon fiber strengthening for the Endeavor Red River Quincy Dog Park project. The scope reinforced the concrete beams and joists supporting the designated work area. It combined fiber on the undersides of members with side-face beam reinforcement for shear, following the structural drawing identified for the dog-park scope.

Project challenge
The reinforcement requirement involved several receiving surfaces rather than one flat slab treatment. The undersides of beams and joists required access for fiber placement, while the beam sides carried a separate shear-strengthening detail. The layout needed to preserve those distinct functions as the composite system was fitted to the existing concrete framing.
Project approach
Delta’s work scope included staging, system scaffolding and preparation of concrete surfaces by hand grinding. The composite system was laid out and applied according to the construction drawings, with S2.208DP identified as the project-specific reference. Underside carbon fiber and beam-side reinforcement formed complementary parts of the strengthening scheme. Shop drawings and product submittals supported the material selection and field layout.
Delivery and coordination
The scope included personnel, equipment and reinforcement materials for the installation sequence. Scaffold access and suitable receiving-surface conditions were prerequisites to placement. The contractor’s staging and permit responsibilities supported site readiness. The project therefore connected a specific amenity-area structural detail with the practical requirements for reaching and preparing the concrete below it.
Project significance
The Quincy project illustrates strengthening associated with a specialized building amenity. Its defining characteristic is the beam-and-joist reinforcement arrangement beneath the dog-park scope. The case highlights how different composite orientations and locations can be combined within one framing intervention while remaining tied to a single structural plan.
